Dear visitor,

Welcome to the website of Mind The Brain, the annual neuroscientific symposium of the Research Master in Neuroscience & Cognition of Utrecht University. The upcoming edition of the symposium will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of May 2012 at the University Medical Center Utrecht.

The symposium aims to be a podium for anyone interested in neuroscience and cognition to exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas in a relaxed scientific setting. Several speakers will be selected from the master’s student body to orally present their research projects, and poster sessions will be held during which other students from the spectrum of neuroscience and cognition present their research. These presentations and poster sessions will be interspersed with keynote lectures held by internationally renowned speakers. Recent editions featured fascinating lectures by speakers, such as Prof B. Everitt from Cambridge University, Prof. Sergio Delle Sala from Edinburgh University, Prof B. Keverne from Cambridge University and Prof. Dick Swaab from the University of Amsterdam.

This year the symposium has as a common theme; Neurological disorders, in which there would be a width variety of topics presented both days. This year we are honored to announce that Prof. Yehezkel Ben-Ari is already confirmed as one of our keynotes. Ben-Ari is one of the leading researchers in the field of epilepsy. He is founder and honorary director of Inserm Mediterranean Institute of Neurobiology in France and has won multiple scientific awards. Moreover, two other keynote speakers will be invited to speak at the symposium as well.

The 2012 Mind The Brain organisation committee is eager to present you with an inspiring symposium. We hope to see you in Utrecht on the 22nd and 23rd of May.
